4b Consent to Electronic Communications

If you choose to use Connect - our in house messaging service between members, your profile (ie Fullname or QRx ID depending on your preferences) will become visible to other members and if you alter your settings to allow incoming messages,  other members will be able to send you messages without you necessarily being able to reply (if the sender has disallowed incoming messages).

If you choose to use 'Connect' to receive or send messages to other members you must appreciate that the content of any message you send or receive may be sent to the member via their open email and is thus not secure and could be intercepted by unknown third parties.

The management therefore advise that no patient identifiers or confidential information should be sent using Connect.

4c Consent for QRx Membership

If you have obtained QRx Membership  sponsorship by a participating medical centre, and enter your QRx ID on the registration page of this website, your sponsoring medical centre will be advised by email of your Registration and you thereby consent that your QRx folder, which may contain details of your medication and which will be made accessible to you.

At this point your sponsoring medical centre will no longer be the sole Data Controller of your record, since through registration at and including your QRx ID you thereby give consent to becoming the joint data controller of your own data, with your sponsoring medical centre. You will be given full access to your QRx record and given the option to share the information (via adding collaborators) with anyone you choose. Collaborators will be able to view and modify your QRx record.

If the registered user shares access to his or her QRx record with third parties, he or she does so at their own risk, since the sponsoring medical centre cannot be liable for 'data loss' that occurs in the event of no longer being sole data controller.
